We have arrived at another election period where our options are limited to a two-party system that does not reflect the realities and needs of the most vulnerable among us. The gains many of our activist ancestors fought for, from public education and reproductive rights to social security and healthcare, have been attacked and diminished over the last half century. In addition, as we continue to bear witness to the ongoing wars and genocide that are waged in the name of this country, despite the silences from our governmental leadership, we must acknowledge our responsibility to speak out against them. We are reaching out to invite you to join us in lighting a fire on your home altar or community ceremonial space on Tuesday, October 1. We are calling on you, our extended familia, to join us in common thought, intention and prayer as we enter this voting season. We will be gathering virtually every Tuesday through October until November 6 for Noches de Palabra, Prayer and Política. We will present short solo commentaries, dialogues, ritual moments, and arts offerings live by folks from various sectors of our communities across the United States.
